Designed by artist and architect Maya Lin, best known as the creator of the elegant Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial in Washington, the walk street residence began construction in June. Other of Ms. Lin’s current art and architectural projects include the Systematic Landscapes show and the Confluence Project.

This stately craftsman was built by Warren & Carla Wilson, who were close friends with the Kinney family. Now a beautifully restored bed and breakfast known as Venice Beach House, the building is on the National Register of Historic Places.
