Old school motel on Main. Less luxe but more authentic than the big garish hotels on Ocean.

Luxury place I guess. Seems kind of soulless, though I understand the spa is nice to sneak into.

Seems like the place I’d like to stay of all the places nearby. But I live in a shitty little surfer crash pad.

Old school motel along Ocean Ave. Not much to look at from the outside, but close to everything, including the Rand Corporation.

Someone needs to get this place a shorter name. Shmancy place on Ocean.

At $420 a night Casa Del Mar is a tad rich for my blood—I’ve never been up to one of the rooms (though I’ll wager plenty of people who work the posh bar/restaurant have).

Holiday Inn Express on 012 2008

Doesn’t look like much from the outside. On the other hand, hanging out inside a Holiday Inn for anything other than sleep while in SoCal doesn’t make a lot of sense.
